I live in South London, UK. My art education was at Chelsea School of Art (Foundation) and St Martin's School of Art (BA Hons). However, I went off and did other things for quite a while. (If you must know, you can check out my IMDb page) I started working professionally as an artist about ten or so years ago.
I usually draw quickly and directly from life. I do that either because I lack imagination or I am lazy and want the hard work finished quickly or perhaps because it gives the pictures a unique energy. Maybe all three.
I had my first solo exhibition at the Jeannie Avent Gallery in 2013. In 2025, all being equal, I will be back there in September for my thirteenth show. Many thanks to Jeannie for allowing me into her gallery every year.
If you want to know even more about me check out the no-holds-barred FAQ page.
On this website you'll find a lot of my work, but not all of it. Not all my original artwork either sold or for sale here. It is hard to keep up to date and I'm creating new work all the time. If you like what I do and are interested in getting an original piece, contact me and I'll send you a list of pictures available. Or come to my next exhibition. At any time there is always a number of original artworks for sale, just ask.
There is a webshop where you can purchase a wide range of cards, prints, original art and my book, Brief Lives. And of course you can also book a modelling session with me.
I must mention some people who have helped me in one way and another:
The Hambridge Artist — Hannah has been a generous supporter of my work for some time and my cards and prints are for sale in her beautiful shop in Ilminster.
Know & Love - Karen, who runs this wonderful company full of unique and tasteful ideas, has been crazy enough to invest in my work much more than I deserve. She even sells my cards. And she is lovely.
Archie and Tallulah's Emporium — They are a brilliant local shop in Forest Hill and they stock my cards and some of my prints.
The Dulwich Art Group - Simon runs a fantastic group for artists of all abilities. Primarily life classes, but they also do short courses in oil painting, portraiture and landscapes. They are great people and work very hard to keep their passion for art and artists alive. I often exhibited as part of their annual show.
Gabrielle Bradshaw. If she hadn't pushed me, I would never have jumped! Please have a look at her work, it's beautiful and exciting.
SCA2.0 — I have been teaching communication and creative skills at this incredible school for many years. Most of the students are much smarter than me. Usually ending up with fabulous careers in advertising. They, and the school, are a constant source of inspiration.
